Deeply patriotic, Jackson understood the costs of American freedom and dedicated his life to preserving the Republic. Unlike many of our so called leaders today, Jackson did not shirk his military service but rather embraced it with all toughness and vigor. As General Jackson, he defeated the Brits in New Orleans, earning him the famous nickname "Old Hickory". Jackson stands apart as a man's man who would not back down and would not give up. Our great, great grandparents loved him and by populist vote Jackson became our seventh President in 1824.
After fighting in the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812, President Jackson faced another formidable foe. Elite bankers were waging war on American's new money and boldly established what they called the Second Bank of America in 1816. Heeding Thomas Jefferson's warning that a central bank in the hands of a few elite would destroy the Republic, President Jackson set out immediately to wage war on the sinister bankers who had known connections to European banking interests, including the House of Rothschild. What became known as The Bank Wars ensued and Jackson emerged the victor in 1836. America once again escaped the clutches of the Evil Money Empire and another central bank would not take root in America until that dark day in 1913.
While Jackson was not perfect, he stood up for our country and fought for our American freedom. He was only nine years old when the Declaration of Independence was signed, but he never forgot what it meant to fight for this great country against enemies both foreign and domestic.
By 1835 he had even paid off the national debt.
Key Quote: "Mischief springs from the power which the moneyed interest derives from a paper currency which they are able to control, from the multitude of corporations with exclusive privileges... which are employed altogether for their benefit".
Trivia: By age fourteen, Andrew Jackson was an orphan. His father died a few weeks before he was born. Both his brothers died in the Revolutionary War and his Mom died of cholera.
